AppleJack update he is doing great!!

Post by coccinelle888 »

Today is week two and he is starting to like me. He takes food from my hands and will let me get close to him.He is still not use to being on my hand or finger or being touched so I dont stress him and try. I just am getting him use to me being in his space.I really enjoy my days off because he gets to spend the whole day out of his cage sitting on the top. He now knows when he see's me I could have some treats for him. The gash on his cere has healed really nice and he adores the fresh fruits and veggies. No more sunflower seed diet for this guy he is getting the best. Im so glad I saved him now and he came into my life. I sat down the other morning and had my coffee and talked to him and told him how pretty he was and how lucky I was to have him. He looked straight at me and wolf whisltle and said hello three times in a row!! I am on cloud nine :0) I know I have a way to go with him but I feel that I am making excellent progress. Im no longer even afraid of being bitten!!

Im so glad I found this board. Im so proud of him. Today he went for a walk around the house and walked upstairs to my room. I took my little perch dowel to collect him and he jumped from there to my shoulder ( he was a little freaked) then on top of my head. He gave me a little nip on his way up ( I didnt react) and then I walked downstairs with him on my head he nibbled a little on my head but was fine and then hopped on his cage. I let him calm for a few minutes and then offered him a nice juicy strawberry that he happily took.
