My new 4 month old baby boy. Advice on taming him.

Post by Shirlee »

I have a new IRN, he is 4 months old. He was handfed I was told. I know it takes time for them to get used to their new homes, I also have a sun conure and a pair of cockatiels. The birds have their own room. My question is, should I leave him be and just talk to him and let him get used to the new place? Or should I be getting him out, holding him, etc. He at first did pretty good when I got him out, yesterday I got some good bites from him, which I expected, got some good bites from the conure at first. Please help

My #1 advice: Don't do stuff that upsets your bird. Causing him to bite you would fall in this category.

Tell us what you did that got you bitten. Maybe we can find a gentler way to get the result you were hoping for. It's probably going to involve some treats.
