South African bird owners

Post by happybird »

Hi everyone!

I thought I would check out if there's anyone else from South Africa on here? I see lots of Australians!

I am from Cape Town, got Bandit a month ago from Pollsmors bird project, was a great decision as he's been a wonderful additoon- with its challenges - but more rewards!

Is there anyone else with a prison bird?

Hi there

I am from Pietermaritzburg, South Africa. No prison birds but I do have lots of pet birds(a fair few rescue birds that no one wanted anymore) and breeding birds.
Bandit looks like a real honey :)

I'll add this link about the prison project:

There are quite a few people from SA on this forum but you're the only one I know with a prison bird.

How is Bandit going now?

Ellie I love your new profile picture.

Bandit is going really well! He took a while to bond with me, and is still not as bonded to me as my husband, but it is much better, and we're on a good track! He's an absolute delight, very sweet, but fairly demanding.

We're planning to take him back to visit the Pollsmoor project soon!

I think I have been bitten by the IRN bug! I definitely see myself getting another one in the future and perhaps breeding. They have so much personality!
