Can I come in- new mom to mustache parakeet

I know this is primarily an indian ringneck forum but hope you won't mind. I know they are sort of similar.
I have a 3 1/2 week old mustache parakeet. A friend brought him to me to hand feed him after the parents stopped feeding him. I've handfed plenty of times before but never one right out of the nest. I got him Friday. Not sure if I will keep him or not- I do have that option if I decide I do want him.
So far I am loving the little different sounds he makes.
