Squeak - 5 weeks old today & look at the colour!!!
This is what is left of my baby that I have raised from an egg!
He is sooooooooooo gorgeous! He loves nothing more than a cuddle & to snuggle in to your clothing or neck. Look at the colour of him - he is almost turquoise!
Jeremy what is the youngest that you can tell if its a boy or girl??? Please tell me what you think my Squeak is.

Awwww Lord have Mercy! Aint that a sight for sore eyes!
He is looking at the camera like: Look at me ya'll! I have a great Mommie and I am looking ever so handsome with my new feathers.
Personality even before they get feathers... Now that is a ringneck for ya.
Almost? Pics lie but I would say definately a turquoise. He doesnt look common blue in the pics AT ALL.
I wish digital pics could be more true to color, especially when we show our babies. Just doesnt do them justice.
With that high beak which juts outwards, whereas males are much flatter, I would have to say girl but then again, you didnt ask me.
Chamon is right... look at that expression... he is going to be abother 'Baby'... a two year old that is into everything and never grows up. I am SO thankful I was introduced to these precious things.

LOL - I dont care if Squeak is a boy or a girl. He/She has bought so much joy to our family already! But if anybody can tell then it would be great to say to him/her that he/she is a good boy/girl.......LOL
Hubby says that he is nothing but trouble wrapped in blue feathers...
I thank you all SO much for your thoughts and well wishes from day 1.
I was just reading back on my original posts where i was looking for help with feeding a day old chick, it seems like second nature now
He has just officially had his heatpad turned off - it is really starting to warm up here now in Australia.
PS - It looks like I will be raising 2 when the next lot of eggs hatch. Mum doesnt have a good track record with babies but you never know. I am pretty sure that her eggs are fertile and dad doesnt even go in the nest.

What mutation is your bird Jeremy?
Pics lie but it looks like a yellowish green body with a dark green head?
Warning ringbaby: Enjoy every feeding like it is the last when he/she gets a little older. I was LOVING feeding my Baby and I went to give her the feeding one day and she refused. I never got to hand feed her again
As independent as she is, she up and weened herself. Decided she didnt need me anymore
I tried every two hours to feed her for a solid week and she wouldnt even entertain the idea. Feeding babies rocks!
