she really really smells and bites a bit but the thing im concerned with is the mouldy looking feathers and the lack of long tail feathers........ im hoping to take her to the vet on thursday but she seems healthy other wise and i have her in a cage seperate from the other 3 for now.... she flys and hovers really well, its so cool haha

Maybe she will look better after a bath.

She looks gorgeous to me! My Tricky loves a bath once a day....he is looking pretty poor due to plucking out his long tail feathers and recently moulting....he has seen an avian vet and she put his plucking his tail feathers out down to his change of home and youth. She said that as long as we continue giving him lots of love that he will be ok, We also took home some mite spray and wormer. You sound like you have much more experience than me with ringnecks....I hope you don't mind my comments.

A couple of photos of Tricky when he first came home.....and a couple of weeks ago. He has in the last couple of days stopped picking at his feathers....he's such a lovey bird. Tonight he was helping me make a batch of muffins.....he 's a big helper. I wish I had a photo of that to show!!!

Wen he first came home

You sure that she's not pied? I don't know what else would cause her feathers to look like that other than purposeful breeding, so I guess she's a modestly rare pied ringneck. It looks neat!

What does she smell like that's so awful? Spray her.

hey guys thanks for the comments, im not to concerned about what she is... as long as she is healthy :D

i think she has been in a dirty cage / avariy and thats why she smells, i also think she has spent a lot of time in a small box, hence the lack of long tail feathers and what she has is damaged, will try get some better pics of her tail...

she makes awesome noises and sounds so different to my other irns :D

and she likes sharing my dinner......... lol

I htink she's really pretty! Will be even better once you clean her and get her a good diet, etc. She's really interesting looking. Nice bird!

She is beautiful. Maybe her smell will fade with some more showers.
