One morning a few weeks ago, the aviary birds were very noisy. I looked out the kitchen window and saw this sitting on the clothesline (appologies for poor quality pics, couldn't get close enough & was in a hurry to take photos as it wasn't hanging around long)....
Getting ready for take off...

Gosh I love those crazy birds. Used to hear them all the time when I lived at the bottom of the mountains. Theyd come and visit us too.. laughing all the way!! hehe They have such a distinct call. It sounds like histerical laughing. Love it!!!

aww yay, i love kookaburras!
we have a weekly visiting koukaburra who likes to sit on our clothes line or fence post - i always try to snap a pic of the gorgeous lil thing but he aludes me. I throw him a piece of chicken or bread or whatever but then out of no where the six-sensed blue eyed resident crows appear and the battle is ON. lolz
too funny.
yesterday the crows took a bath in our papillon's (dog) left over water tub outside. it was very humourous took video with my phone but it was soo blury.
cool pix btw.

Havnt seen them there since the drought---but have been around occasionally this summer.
