Nicola that is an Alexandrine :) The cage is a bit small for him, his tail feathers look a little ratty but he may have been in to small a cage at his original home.
You can try to put some flyiers up in petshops and vet clinics to see if the owner comes forward. Once he gets comfortable with you and his surroundings he will probably tell you his name. It doesn't look like he is wearing a leg band so it's going to hard to find out where he come from.

He is a very beautiful bird.

What a beauty! I agree with Donna, would opt for a little bigger cage, but he will be okay in there for a while. He may have traveled quite a way, but I am sure someone is missing that darling!

I am going to try the flyer thing ive just got to get some ink for my printer so i can print some off.
I thought he might have needed a bigger cage but being as he isnt mine there isnt much point in purchasing one just yet incase the owners do come to get him and then ive got out of pocket for nithing and where as normally i wouldnt mind but i have dogs and kids to look after too lol.
But im very greatful for the replys and i will deffinately let you know how it goes.

Hi Nicola

The cage is fine for a short term stay. I hope you find the owners - they must be frantic.
Cheers

He isnt microchipped so i dont know hat else to do so ive started looking into a bigger cage for him and bought him loads of new perches and toys for when he is out of his cage.
