Whoa! Thats how 'Toos are here.

He was about a grand I think... I just point and say 'Daddy, want dat' and keep walking like a two yr old.

Yes, I call my husband daddy a lot of the times. Not sure why, seems natural. Maybe because we have so many youngens? Maybe because he is so good to me?

He buys it and finds me (but not always though he cant say no so if he doesnt JUMP to buy it, I leave it be). By then I have found something else! I got only two toys yesterday... thats all. I swear.

Sometimes he makes me sit in the car at stores :(

I say waaait! He says no, stay in the car, aint buying you nothing, ya killing me.

And I gotsta sit in da car.

They seemed to be about half the price of pet stores. I have gotten kind of cozy with this chick that works at Petsmart which is where I buy my food. She said the mark-up was more than furniture (3 times that of wholesale).

So when we pay 20.00 for a toy, it could have been sold for 5.00 but they understand the suckers we are so 300% mark-up before it hits the shelf.

Mik I'm guessing your baby is about 7 to 8 weeks old and still on 4 feedings. You got your hands full girl, but worth every moment. I start spoon feeding when their about 2 weeks old I hate a syringe. Have they DNA'ed it. And what are you going to name this little bundle of joy? I just love baby greys!!! Keep us posted!!!

Wow, congrats on your new African Grey. They are truly remarkable parrots and they defiantly have the gift of gab. I can’t get mine to ever stay quiet!

They are such a joy while hand feeding! I love it when they fall asleep after being fed. Ahh the memories.

Here are a few tips to start from day one

Start with showers and teach your grey that they are enjoyable.

Spoon feed your grey warm oatmeal a few times after weaning (helps in case your parrot ever needs meds).

Teach your grey to play alone—very important. A grey who cannot cope with being alone almost leads to plucking.

Most importantly give him a treat from all of us! So excited for you! Please post more pictures and videos!

Greys here are about 4 to 5 grand and Macaws can be anywhere from 8 to 10 grand! I want one of each! I think I might start off with a Eclectus they are about 800 to 1000 dollars here. I'll pass on getting my first car.
Greys are remarkable talkers! I cant believe how intelligent they are. Amazing. Cant wait to here your lil cutie talk, going to have your accent I can tell.

Shew, poor baby, he is so cursed with my accent.

I wish I could hear it. People say 'he sounds just like you'. Since I cant hear it in myself, I cant hear it in him.

Here is the little punk. He does the most talking in the darker ones. New camera at the time and I didnt have the sittings right. Bad viewing, excellent audio.

A grey with this voice:

What kind of bird that is multi-colored one with the red head. Is it a pionus? I love it!
