My new "temporary"fid

Post by Bird crazy »

SUNSHINE
I have him on a two week trial, trying to get him hand tamed so he can
find a good home. I've had him 2 days and we're making progress. So all you MBS suffering fools out there, I'll do the training and he could be yours.

what a beauty. Are you sure you don't want to keep him....you could have one in every color (and look at that ring!)

He is a pretty thing and doesn't bite, just scared.
Hasn't been handled in a while and had full flight, so
got a new home and wings clipped in one day.

He actually went to visit Nila and Priya when I was taking a nap.
Woke to find him in their cage and they were cool with it.
I have a rope hanging to the floor on their cage and he apparently flew to the floor and got himself up there. I haven't put a rope on his cage because I didn't want my two over there terrorizing him. I never thought he would want to go over to them. He's really pretty skinny too. I think he needs a lot of good food, was on an all seed diet and seemed like a scanty amount of seed to me. He did take a peanut I put in his dish. And a foot toy that he screamed at then finally went over and threw down to the bottom of his cage.

He's real interested in everything and I have him right by my computer where I sit most of the time so he gets used to me.

KateyKat what are you getting? At least give us a clue as to the color of the feathers.

Update

Post by Bird crazy »

Sunshine is doing a lot better today. He played on the playgym outside with my two and no major squables. He's eating a little more. But if it's not seed he just throws it down. Including nutriberries. But he doesn't look so skinny to me. I think he just had his feathers slicked down tight to his body out of fear. Now that he's a little more relaxed he looks fatter somehow.

So a little progress each day.

I'm looking a bit fatter every day too, but suspect it has to do with Christmas cookies and eggnog...wonder if I could get away with the feathers and fear defense? I think Sunny looks lovely!

Its a boy!

*invites everyone over to see 'Son'.

Get it... yellow, sun, baby, son. hehe

To everyone else it will be Sun but when I say it I will be meaning 'son'. :D

Like, come on son, to a child. Feels natural. Like Baby.

Sunshine

Post by Bird crazy »

Delivered Sunshine to his new Mom today and gotta give anyone credit who rehabs birds and then finds them homes. I had him for less than a week and cried half way home from Mikaela's and it's a 2 1/2 hour ride.

I took him knowing I would find him a good home and man that is hard. Not sure I have it in me to do that again.

I'm sure he has a good home and that helps some. And I could hear Baby calling from his space wanting to get a good look at us. Hopefully they'll get along and have a good time together too.

At least you know he has a super home Sue. And that you are sure to see heaps of photo's of him. Is that the first time you have fostered a birdie? My hat is off to you for taking him in and finding him a forever home.

Its hard to drive while crying isn't it? You poor thing, hope you were careful.

He is a really pretty bird. I'm glad Mikaela was able to take
him and I think he will turn into a velcro bird with a little time and work.

I really got attached quickly. No more fostering for me. I am definitely
not cut out for that. From now on if I take em I keep em or I don't take em.
