My IRN Rio
I bought Rio on Tuesday. He's around two years old and not tame, but I'm working on it!
I also have two parrotlets, Tiki and Robin.

Nice birds!
Azure
Just a "bookworm" (or rather an internetworm?) who has no ringneck(s) but REALLY wants a cobalt or violet

So cute.
Love the last photo!! What a clown.

Re: My IRN Rio
Thanks! The clown is Robin. I thought I bought a male parrotlet but it turned out to be a female mutation. So she looks like a male but is really a female. I didn't have the heart to return her to the breeder. She loved that toy and I loved her personality!
Re: My IRN Rio
hahaha I love Robin!
Re: My IRN Rio
I'm surprised that he's not afraid of my camera! He doesn't mind me walking around his cage and taking photos of him.

Re: My IRN Rio
Im a little confused here? I can see the start of a black ring or am I missing something?Crisco wrote:Thats not a male ringneck
Re: My IRN Rio
Considering this bird is only 2 years old, it is still possible to be male. The rings can sometimes take up to three years to appear so it still has time to come in. Each bird is different as to when they get their ring, and how long it takes to come in.Crisco wrote:Thats not a male ringneck

Re: My IRN Rio
ahh ... thanks for clearing that up Shane
Re: My IRN Rio
I'm sure he's a male. He has black feathers under his beak but it's hard to see in the photos.
And would a female ringneck eat her apple messy like that??

Re: My IRN Rio
I have seen some females with rings as dark as that so you will just have to wait and see
and yes a female would be as messy as that

Re: My IRN Rio
Rio is very beautiful, I just got a IRN and called it Rio. I have not seen the movie yet, but I thought it was a nice name.
Re: My IRN Rio
The breeder who sold it to me said it is a male. I guess we'll just have to wait and see then!
Ring Neck: I was going to name him Ringo, but then I saw the movie trailer and thought Rio was a nice name too. Then I saw the movie and the parrot is called Blue, lol! Oh well!

Re: My IRN Rio
Was the movie good? I want to see it this weekend. Rio is a nice name and so is Ringo. I hope mine will look like yours when he get older.
Re: My IRN Rio
Yeah, it's a good movie! I enjoyed watching it!
Re: My IRN Rio
He was out of his cage for the first time today! I hope it'll get easier to tame him now that he can spend some time outside the cage. I think he liked it but wanted to stay close to the cage, just in case!
Re: My IRN Rio
Wow he is beautiful, I am hoping to see the movie tomorrow. Rio is beside me right now and he is going to bed soon. I wish his breeder did not clip his wings, he is trying to fly and falling to the floor, I feel bad for him.
