can you put apple tree branches in a IRN cage or are they toxic

To the best of my knowledge,the toxic part of apples is the seeds only- Ive always understood that friutwood in general is OK to use-tho it doesn't hold up to chewing like madrone or manzanita.Just be sure of course that branches are totally pesticide-free and bug-free! I use Murphys Oil Soap diluted w/DISTILLED water to clean my branch perches before use (great safe cleaner for cage,etc, too!)
DONT ever use branches with leaves from any pitted fruit tree-ie, peaches,plums, cherries- the leaves (and pits) contain cyanide...

apple trees are safe for birds I use vinagar and water and then dry them in the sun vinagar won't harm the wood and it's non toxic and xleans all pesticides and dirt
