life expectancy

Post by Rami » Tue Feb 26, 2008 9:58 am

Hi! how are you?
I have this question.. how many years can an IRN live? I read they can live 25 years, but where I bought Sami they told me 60 years. So, I'm confused...
Thanks

60 years is more for your bigger birds (macaws, cockatoo's) but in the wild their life expectancy is much less. Even birds living in captivity only lives out their life expectancy in perfect conditions such as all the right food, housing, and environment play a big part in how long your parrot will live. Breeder birds will not be expected to live as long as pet birds.
