Is my Indian Ringneck a boy or a girl?

Post by OllyGreen »

I bought him off a breeder and was told it's a buy but he's a little over a year old now but hasn't developed a ring or anything. I read up about females, they cluck and that was what Olly was doing quite a few times so I have a feeling it's a girl. Might have to start calling it Polly if it is haha. But I have a few photos so can someone who's quite an expert tell me?

Do you happen to know what Ollie's parents' colours were? Sometimes they can give you a clue on what sex your bird might be...other than that you'll need to DNA or surgical sex your bird to know the answer before your bird reaches maturity at around 3 yrs of age.

ps..clucking means nothing- both males and females will 'cluck'

You can do it cheaper by going to this site and ordering their free testing kit. :)
