Hi I was just wondering when does a female start to show her faint ring? I know male start to get there's at about 18months- 2 years but I can't find anything about females. I have a 6 month old turqoise grey that was DNA tested by the breeder saying she is a female. She has just gone through a small moult and a small dark ring has come in around her neck and some faint dark feathers between her cere and her eyes. Is it normal for a female to get this so young? Or should I assume she is older than I was told?

Emerson has a faint ring. I would imagine it will darken a little but it won't be as striking as the male markings. She's still a beautiful bird, though.
