Bird on Holidays

Post by Azure »

So, what does everyone do with their birds during away from home holidays? Keep them at home, feed and watered if its short, send them to a friends place if its long?

and does anyone know if any pet shops do minding for a price in sydney?

thanks,
Azure

We do a variety of things. If we are a way for one night only, we generally leave them at home with extra food.

Some times we take them with us in their travel cage. Twice I've tried boarding them at professional boarding places... it was ok but I felt they get a bit overwhelmed being with so many birds. Sometimes our in-laws look after them and sometimes I have a friend who will come and bird-sit. It can be really difficult though... and I've been hoping to find someone local who was like-minded with their birds who we could look after theirs when they go away and vice versa... but I haven't found anyone yet.
