Is this molting?

Barry is my first bird, got him in July, he was hatched in march. He is losing a lot of little downy feathers, no big ones. His feathers on his head look really rough and he looks like he is blue and white patchy. I know the pics aren't that great, he won't stay still! But could someone tell me if this looks like a molt?

yep it looks like a mild molt.Wait till barry has a full big molt and you will think he is neglected.

Thank you Julie, I've kinda been beating myself up already, I will hopefully keep that in mind when we get a big one.

The amount of feathers they loose with a big one ,some people including me have thought we were going to see a dead bird somewhere.They loose that much its scary, but when they finish the molt the feathers come in all nice and shiny and they look so good.
