Can any Body Tell?

A. Doesnt react to definite male but always needs to be by its side
B. I think its getting a slight black ring.

All my male birds have got their ring when they are moulting in Dec/Jan. They have ranged in age from 1 year old to 3 years old when this has happened. If you wanted to be sure you could get it dna sexed which would cost about $17. I have breed with male birds that didnt have a ring yet but I knew the sex because of dna sexing.

Looks like an olive.

It also looks male to me going not only by the ring forming but by the forehead shape.

This is my olive hen. As you can see there is no sign of a ring at all. She is 5 years old so fully mature.

Just a "bookworm" (or rather an internetworm?) who has no ringneck(s) but REALLY wants a cobalt or violet
