training tricks
So I am still faily new to having my IRN, but i know it's a verysmart bird. I am so excited for him/her to learn to talk! What is the best way to teach this? i've already tought him to give kisses, but he only seems eager to do it if a treat is involved What are some other cool tricks that are pretty simple to teach my bird? fyi, he is roughly 5 maybe 6 months old now. Thanks!

Re: training tricks
Hi
The first trick I taught both my birds is the turnaround. I've posted info about these at this thread:
http://www.indianringneck.com/forum/vie ... lit=around
I've got some footage of Janey doing turnarounds here:

Here is a clip of a 6-year old teaching his parrot to do turnarounds:

Instructions on teaching a bird to turn around can be found here:
http://www.parrots.org/pdfs/all_about_p ... %20Cue.pdf
I like this as a first trick because it doesn't involve you touching the bird and it serves to build trust.
Have fun!
Ellie.

Re: training tricks
What a coincidence! After posting this questin yesterday i tought him to turn around! I just got his fav treats and would get him to turn around with the motion of the treat then i'd give him the treat, after about 10 times of that he was doing it on his own! He's so smart! Can you post videos on here? I'd love to brag I also taught him to give me a kiss about a week ago. Man, i love this bird!
