I am getting a 5 week old Alex babie this weekend
I have handraised before and am confident in doing it but can anyone please give me a guide for the amounts to feed and frequency etc for this species

Please

its the same as feeding irns but alexes eat a lot quicker and dont fuss as much. what kind of birds do you have experience hand feeding?

Lorries, cockatiels, love birds and a few wild birds over the years
I'm comfortable in doing it and can tell when bird is full etc just like to have references for back up that's all

Id say it would probably be around about the same as the birds you fed before. The guide by Melika in the breeding section would be good to use, i used it for Mika.

As for the amounts, ask your breeder as he/she would know best. I never fed by a set amount but rather by how full the crop became. Once you know what a full crop looks like, you know when enough is enough. ^^

I've been called 'birdbrained' before, but somehow I don't think this is what they meant. say:hah-nay
