feeding

Post by McShell1970 »

I know this is prob going to sound like a silly question, but when my IRN eats (and she eats quite a bit, greedy little munchkin) is it normal for them to have a chew on wat there eating then spit it out, I only ask as I want to be sure she is feeding well.........IE......when she eats an apple or pepper will bite, chew for a few seconds then lob it out her mouth..........TIA

Yes, it's very normal. Sometimes they like to sort of suck out the liquid and toss the rest. They can be quite piggish but it's difficult for an active bird eating healthy food to actually become overweight so you shouldn't need to worry about it. :)

I've been called 'birdbrained' before, but somehow I don't think this is what they meant. say:hah-nay
