Persimmon, an Instant Win

Post by MissK »

Today Rocky had Persimmons for the first time. The title says it all - they were an Instant Win! I think he preferred the Fuyu, as the Hachiya was a bit wet and sloppy (Rocky likes things neat - how ironic is that!). He tucked into that bowl and it held his attention a surprising amount of time.

Next door, in the Budgie cage, the crowd was harder to impress.

I liked my Persimmons, too, and regretted that I only bought two. I only got a taste; he will get the most of them.

Ahh now you remind me of one I had in the fridge a little too long that I couldn't give it to Dudes. He's never tried one and neither had I, but I cut it in half just to have a sniff and see what it smelled like, and it smelt yummy! So I'm definately going to buy more, and he might be kind to me and let me try it too.

Loo, make sure you Google how to pick a ripe one. Those unripe are.... "different". :?

Sanjay likes them firm, but he only has a nibble, they haven't got seeds to forage!

Then make holes in it and stuff it with seeds.
