Tomatoes & Mushrooms

Post by MystikNZ »

Hi Guys!

I read conflicing information about Tomatoes and Mushrooms, some feed and some don't,
What's the best thing? I've had a look at the 'quaker' bird diet feed table someone did and they say they are okay.

A) Do you or do you not feed these?
B) How similar is a part to a IRN?
C) What is a Quaker? lol!

I would never feed fungi, it is not part of any birds natural diet. Tomatoes and potatoes are related to deadly nightshade and toxic. A Quaker is another breed of parakeet, and a parakeet is a small parrot.

As was noted in the sticky thread, the caution with tomatoes is in reference to the acidic nature of the tomato. Some say not to feed, others to feed. I choose feed, but not a lot. From what I can find, it is the most balanced view.

I've been called 'birdbrained' before, but somehow I don't think this is what they meant. say:hah-nay
