Lowered appetite

Is it normal for them to eat less while moulting? Barry is losing a lot more little white and blue baby feathers, the last week and a half his appetite is not as good. Even with fruits and veggies, I have been trying to rotate between seed and pellets, it seems like he's not eating the pellets at all, but even when he is out with me, and playing, he will usually enjoy his treats a lot more. Is this because of the moult? I have no way of weighing him, his poop looks normal, maybe a little more whit in it than usual. Should I be worried? There are no other signs of illness and I never see him plucking, just preening, preens me too! :)
