Violet SF X Violet SF. Genetics help on split

Post by OakieEd1 »

Hi,
I'm not good with genetics. I have a violet pair. Both look SF. 1st clutch had 1 very dark violet (DF?) and two blues. 2nd clutch had two violets. They are now on their 3rd clutch with 5 babies. The first 3 babies are definitely violet...the last too are too young to tell yet. With that info, can anyone ferret out what my SF violets are split with (and are they both SF?)? Thanks

Hi

Keep in mind that i'm also new at this but i've been playing for a few months with the gencalc and i can tell you that in order for that pair to breed blue clutch they both are sf. Because if the male or female were df you would only have violets sf or df.
About the splits i leave it to someone more expert but i dont think the male is split to any sex-linked because you probably would have some visual females by now since the chances are 50% for the females to show that sex-linked mutations.

Hope that helped. If I'm wrong someone please corret me.
