Hi everyone,

I have a 5 and a half week old INR, at roughly 10 days old the chicks were pulled from the parents because the owner found a chick had either fallen or was rejected from the next so made the decision to pull them all and hand rear them.

at around 20-25 days old i became the new mummy :) and carried on with hand rearing my IRN. I was told the parents are blue. They are under 2 years old.

So after some background info I'll come to ny reason for posting. I noticed that some of the feathers are banded in color, very pale blue, turquoise, blue and so on on a single feather and suddenly a very distinguished light colored ring is clearly visible on the neck. Can anyone tell me what this might mean with regards to the color and also would the ring at such a young age have any significants to gender or anything else?

Thank you

Very very common for indian ringnecks to have a light ring around their neck before they've matured. My baby indian ringnecks (blue, grey and green) have the same thing. :)
