Hi, i am new to this forum. I need to confirm that you can visually identify if the ringneck in the pic is actually a female. And also is it a creamino? Would a male creamino have the visible ring on the neck?
Age :- 3 years

I thank you in advance
Kind regard
Aaron

If it is a male, will the ring be visible or being a cremino it does not show?

Hi,

At first view this bird looks like a ligth creamino (ligth TurquoiseBlue SL-Ino) but ...
1. The primary flying feathers are not white but brownish ... so another mutation is present, may be Cinnamon.
2. The eyes show pinball pupiles, despite that the bird is not exposed to a high intensity ligth (indoor conditions), similar to what has been described in NSL-Inos.
So it could be a ligth TurquoiseBlue NSL-Ino Cinnamon.

Male or female? It is a very ligth bird with very little residual psittacin, so even if it was a male he could not display any red ring. If it really is a NSL-ino then the probabilities of being male or female are the same. If it was a SL-Ino, then probably it is a female. Could you ask for his/her breeding history?

Regards

Recio

I agree. Unsure about the grey, though.

Hi all, Thanks for the replies.

I had asked the pet shop from where i bought this IRN but he has no history.

Re gender i will do a DNA test, i was assured by the pet shop that this was a female by checking the pelvic bones which are very wide but which by checking i also agree, i know this method is not at all reliable.

Hi,

On a different screen I can see that the primary flying feathers are not brown but rather grey pointing to pallid instead of cinnamon, but then ... what about the eyes?

Does anyone know how a combo NSL-ino Cinnamon looks like? Similar to SL-Ino Cinnamon (light green-yellow) or just like a lutino?

Regards

Recio

Hi Recio, I've never seen one. Tienie and I have discussed this combination a couple of times, with the same question being asked. He has the ingredients to produce this combination, so I'm looking forward to his finding.
