Half sider and grizzle

Post by Aussie_nathan »

Hey people,
I was wondering if anyone has ever seen or know of anyone that owns a half sider? They look very different and I would love to get my hands on one, but they can't be purposely bred also has anyone seen or have a grizzle coloured bird? Again another mutation I would love to get
Thanks for your help.

Willy has a half-sider but from my understanding he won't be selling it.
Grizzle... If you are to ever find one, make sure you see the grizzle parents & offspring otherwise it might not be a mutation at all.

Sorry but the breeder likes to be privat for this mutation and we should respect this.
Only that much: he is one of the well known breeders in OZ.

One day when I start breeding I would love to get one of each! Does anyone have any photos of any that are pets? I am really interested to see if they are fairly commen or rare? Like I said I have only ever seen one picture of each on the web but I have been offered an green-grey that has what I would describe as a part sider as it has a silver shield on its chest that goes under the wing.

Hi Nathan,
if you run a search within this forum on 'Grizzle' you'll come up with a few birds that could fit that category.

The above bird is mine, we have a breeder in SA experimenting with halfsiders. apparently he had 3 pairs, paired up last year.

I will inquire as to the outcome of last years breeding and report back.

This one is a "Pied" halfsider, I have noticed a few common traits that all halfsiders seem to share.

Has anyone else ?
