I have been studying the genetics of IRN and will readily admit its VERY confusing, LOL

A breeder I know has a Lutino cock paired with a Parblue lime (DF rainbow) hen
Their first mating produced 2 lutino hens and a normal green male
Their second mating produced 2 lutino hens, a lutino cock and a lighter green (lime) cock

My first question is how to put this into the genetic calculator ? The lutino cock is easy but I am having a heck of a time getting the hen right. I was told the lime is a form of ino but not sure if its plain ino or pallid (this confuses me a lot yet)
Can the lutino hen offspring be split to something ? Thinking she would be split to parblue ...
am I right in thinking the lutino cock and the lime green cock are split to parblue ?

The other pair I have been studying is a Cinnamon blue hen paired with a normal green split to ino cock
Their first mating produced a female creamino and a green male.
Their second mating produced a creamino, a lutino and 2 cinnamon blue babies (sex not known).

Am I right in thinking the creamino and lutino are hens and the cinnamon blues are cocks ?

Sorry for asking so many questions all at once but what better way to learn right?

Hi to reply to the first pairing, lime is the old name for lacewing which is now called pallid, to enter a DF turquoise pallid, you must select turquoise and pallid under visual for the hen

x 0.1 turquoise(parblue) pallid

This will be the results for the first pairing
But with the breeding results from the first pair, there is more to the genetics of the parents, I would advice to post pics of both parents so that they can be correctly identified, I do have an idea of what they could be, but would like to see some pics to confirm what I think they are

For your second pairing here is the results

  1.0 green /ino
x 0.1 blue cinnamon
% from all 1.0
50.0% 1.0 green /blue cinnamon
50.0% 1.0 green /blue ino cinnamon
% from all 0.1
50.0% 0.1 green /blue
50.0% 0.1 ino /blue

But looking at the results from breeding this pair, I would guess the parents genetics to be as follows for the second pair

From what you posted I am guessing the breeder is missing a split somewhere (my opinion) in the first pair, otherwise she wouldnt get the light green and darker green babies ... am I correct ?

As for the second pair, would the male then have to be split to cinnamon to produce the cinnamon blue offspring ?
I am (hopefully) adding a picture of the second pair as well as their offspring which I was told are cinnamon blue

Hi, yes for the first pair, more info is need and yes for the second pair, the father has to be split to cinnamon to produce cinnamon babies as cinnamon is a sex-linked mutation

This is a pic of the other youngster called "Rio"


And lastly is a pic of the parents of the above young birds


From the pics, I would say that both the mother and the babies look like normal blue, and not blue cinnamon

Not sure if i need glasses
but the male looks Turquoise or Indigo and not green

Can someone confirm if i see right ?
if so one young is blue the other turquoiseblue or indigoblue.

Does it have any red in the ring? i can't see any red which would point to Indigoblue
