is the lutino baby a hen?

hi i have a lutino hen and a blue cock that have bred this year..ive got 3 babies just getting their feathers,( no blues) 3 green and one lutino....am i right in believing the lutino is a definite hen??..and because there are no blue babies...that the dad was split to normal green?
any help would be appreciated...

Hi Ush, what it would mean is the blue cock is split ino, and that's why you got a lutino baby.

This is the possible results from your pairing

1.0 blue /ino
x 0.1 ino
% from all 1.0
50.0% 1.0 green /blue ino
50.0% 1.0 ino /blue
% from all 0.1
50.0% 0.1 ino /blue
50.0% 0.1 green /blue

So as you can see the lutino baby can be either male or female, even your green babies can also be either male or female, and would need to be surgically or DNA sexed to find out the gender

I had the opposite to this last year, a Lutino Cock and a Blue Hen, the result was a Lutino Hen, and 2 Green Cocks!

When the male is the the lutino and female blue you can sex the young in the nest as all male will be green and female lutino
