Pairing question
Hi all
I have 3 breeding pairs of Ringnecks that are all in the one large aviary at the moment while i'm landscaping my backyard and building them a new aviary, this means however that i had no control over the pairings this year and my Violet Lacewing female has paired off with a Green male.
Just wondering what the babies will be - all green?
Thanks
Jono

Re: Pairing question
If the Green is split for Blue you'll get Violet Blues and Blues as well as Violet Greens and Greens.
All males will be split to Pallid (lacewing).

Re: Pairing question
I'm fairly certain that my green is not split to blue - only green, does this mean that i would only get greens and violet greens?
Re: Pairing question
Cheers, thanks for the fast response!
Re: Pairing question
Agreed. And split for pallid considering the mother.JonoH wrote:To me it looks like a violet green.

Will be sending off some feathers to DNA test it next week so will let you know the results.
Its amazing how the blue in the center of the tail shows up heaps more in a photo than to the naked eye.
