Re: cobalt dominant edge pics???
The thing to look out for with the edged mutation in the cocks (SF birds) is the general body colour, which becomes lighter than your normal dark factor birds. Notice how well the hen is edged, yet the cocks don't display it quite as nicely. These are the sons of the cobalt edged hen, so it is the manifestation of the same gene.
Half the mutation expressed in cobalt. A SL SF dom. edged cobalt cock (young)
Half the mutation expressed in mauve. A SL SF dom. edged mauve cock (young)
Ultimately, you'd want to reach the full expression of the mutation in cobalt. Here you will notice the full effect and severe edging and decent dilution. Don't have a DF cock, but here is a SL SF dom. edged cobalt hen.
Enjoy!

Re: cobalt dominant edge pics???
cobalt edged in the middle (could carry the cinnamon and the misty gen as well ):
Re: cobalt dominant edge pics???
@Madas, I believe that is a perfect example of what Tienie would call the "patchiness" we see in an edged youngster also carrying cinnamon, i.e. edged cinnamon crossover.

That's what you think. I posted the bill this morning... I just hope the Post Office strike ends soon, otherwise you'll never get it.Carr.birds wrote:Johan
