Opaline Cleartail's - Looking for pictures of mature birds

Post by prodigy »

Hi All,

I am looking for photos of of the combined mutations of Oplaine and Cleartails, only pictures of mature males and females 2 years and older are required please.

I need to understand what effect both mutations will have on the head color of the adult birds as the Cleartail mutation lightener's the head color and the Opaline mutation darkens the head color.

Thanks

Peter

Peter, I've messaged a lot of people all over the world, but couldn't find a single mature cock yet. :(

Hope you have better luck, as I'm desperate to see one! :D

Thanks Ben but that is a young female, as Johan says a mature male will be the real test

No worries! That is a hen, though. Still waiting for a mature cock bird, but I don't think they exist yet.

Not the hens. Mature cocks likely will.

There is a pic of an opaline cleartail mauve I have seen, it looks like a cock with a defined black neckring with head colour.

Nope. This bird is owned by Sjack Bastiaan.

Madas, Yep, You're right . I was thinking of another bird of M, but it did not have opaline and Chris did not have it on his website.

Johan,

Martin, he has sizable stock of Deep Blues here in OZ. Willy mentioned him that he bred the first df deepblue.
he has mauves CT but it wasn't opaline the bird i seen pics of.

Hi Ben,
That wouldn't be Martin from Victoria that you're talking about? If it is, he is a friend of mine and he bred the line of deep greens my cock bird is from. He had the unusual df deep green cock, he said he has never seen one like it ever again. unfortunately it got attacked and killed.
Regards Kappa.

Hi Kappa,

Yes it is. Good to know where you sourced your green deep from him, as he is a trusted breeder and we trust your results more.
Imagine, anyone can claim to have a deep green without reliable tracking where it came from it'd be hard to rely on his info, pics as you know.

So let me guess: it is Chris Smith. :D Most of his opaline cleartails came from Sjack.
