Re: Blue or turquoise blu cinamon
Hi, I would go with turquoise blue cinnamon
The second pic is very interesting, the bird seems to have a patch of red on its head, very nice
Thanks

Looking at the red patch on the head I would now say its more than just a blue turquoise cinnamon, but you will have to wait to hear what the others have to say

Re: Blue or turquoise blu cinamon
if I'd only seen the middle pic I would have thought Blue Pallid/ino but because you've posted others I am not sure of exactly what it is... I don't see Cinnamon, as the flights don't even look slightly tinged in brown- but that is not to say it isn't there (or it could just be the pics)! - there will always be light/dark examples of all mutations, and some will keep us guessing.
Am interested in hearing what the others think
I don't think this bird has the Turquoise mutation
Do you know what the parents were?

Re: Blue or turquoise blu cinamon
Hi Chocobo, I think that it is a blue cinnamon turquoise with something more due to the red patch on the head.
If you look closely at the second pic you will notice the greenish tinge on the wings and the fact that there is a red patch on the head instead of a white patch would also point to turquoise.
Normally turquoise is supposed to have a greenish head, but there is something that I believe has strip away the melanin and is showing the psittacine. Normally the psittacine colour in this area should be yellow/cream, but is showing as red here, waiting for the more experienced guys to comment on this.
Also if the look at the pale blue colouring and the brownish washed out flights, you will see that this points to cinnamon.
This is just my guess and I could be wrong also, waiting for others to comment
Thanks
Lushen

Pretty sure the red is blood, hey...
Re: Blue or turquoise blu cinamon
I have absolutely no experience determining colour mutations but I just wanted to say you have a very beautiful bird!

Re: Blue or turquoise blu cinamon
I actually agree with Johan. My first thought was that this bird was in a little bit of a fight and had blood on its head.
The green sheen may also be because the pics were taken with a flash on. On blue birds I have noticed this happens.

Re: Blue or turquoise blu cinamon
Hi, as I said I could be wrong, also initially thought it could be an injury and bloodstained, but not sure.
Thanks

Re: Blue or turquoise blu cinamon
For all we know maybe there is something more to it. KJ1988 would you be able to contact the breeder and also get pics without a flash being used
Re: Blue or turquoise blu cinamon
Just a thought.... lipstick?? I've kissed my bird's head (who is a similar colour) and left behind a pinky red colour before- whoops!!
