Apologies if this topic has already been discussed- I did run a search, but didn't come up with anything
What are the visual differences between a double factor Violet and a single factor Dark Violet?
If you bred the two possibilities could you tell them apart in the nest? Could you tell them apart as mature birds?
can send me a link if already discussed- thanks

Violet, DF Violet, Dark Violet, Deep Violet Blues

I posted this on another thread. Very hard to tell apart. Up close the DF Violet is darkest and more 'violet' looking.

yes, I did see it on another thread and couldn't distinguish between the two- they virtually look identical- Thankyou for pointing out that the (DF)Violet is darker and more 'violet' looking than the Dark Violet.
I will have to keep that in mind when I'm looking at birds to buy- though it maybe impossible to tell unless both types are in together...
The Deep bird is interesting- and looks very similar to the Dark and (DF)Violet but a shade or two lighter.
