Aussie price for cobalt?
Hi to all the Aussie Breeders, (and elsewhere if you know also?)
Just wondering what the going rate in Australia is for a cobalt (most likely european, not aussie), sex unknown.
Thanks!
EDIT* Forgot to mention it will be a hand-reared weaned chick

Re: Aussie price for cobalt?
Thanks Ring0 - do you know if they are more pricey in WA due to availability? Or should they be about the same rate? Cheers
Stunning bird by the way

Re: Aussie price for cobalt?
W S from WA has them for $500 sexed hens n cocks, so that is the right price for a sexed 2012 bird.

Deb, You're doing great !
Everything is a lesson in life, everything has a purpouse.
You've probably acquired a lot more knowledge and skills then a breeder would have in 10 years the old fashion way.
Also, let us not associate negativity to something that is fullfilling. You like something? do it ! and keep doing it (keep it legal)
There's a time for everything.
That's me anyway, I try my best to enjoy everyday as if it was my last.
I Don't bring an end to something I love just because I feel guilty for feeling good..
Lol, i write something then i keep editing 3-4 times after, so don't be surprised if you refresh and find something else altogether

Thanks Ben
And it's all credit to you guys and gals, that HAVE done the hard yards, and put the time and effort into breeding and studying the outcomes........and then so generously passing on that information to newcomers like myself, and putting up with our incessant questions all the time, lol
I can't thank you all enough for your patience, assistance, and willingness to part with your knowledge

Deb,
Here's one for you:
Look at this bird:

http://parakeet.me/irn/f/IMG_3328a.jpg
Just got it from W S recently.
It is a deep? violet pallid cockbird.
He has another one just like it, it's brother.
If I were you, I would consider this even before a Cobalt, you'll get the wow factor everytime someone sees such beauty.
Cobalts can look ordinary, unless you have a breeding plan for the Cobalt.
* Bonus If it ends up being a Deep also then you really scored a bargain and a beautiful bird.
Just a thought.
