Need Mutation Help

Post by littlemiraclesaviary »

After being out of breeding for 18 months we are looking to get back in on a small scale and start out with 4 different pairs

We have a lot of possibilities and since we are only getting a few pairs we want to make sure we get the right ones for what we want. We know for sure that one of our pairs is going to be our old pair that we use to own they were the last pair we had before we got out of birds and they are Violet Pallid Hen (parents PallidIno male with a Violet Hen) with a Violet Dark Green split to pallid male and we are happy with that pair and are aware of the numerous offspring possibilities with them but below are some of the birds we have available to us from several breeders to purchase and we are wondering what would be the best pairing solutions.

Grey, Green and Blue CHCT 2012 babies
Blue Pallids
Turquoise Suffuse (Dilute Edge) this is what the breeder calls it and they also have a sibling to it that is Turquoise split suffuse
Also something that is being called an Olive Turquoise but it looks like a Violet Green to me I have tried to attach a picture but not sure if it will work
Also we have some Albino females available to us

Our goal is to breed CHCT's, Pallids, Various Turquoise mutations including Creaminos

If a breeder has such a bird he has to know the parents, ask him what the parents were.
Pic has a lot of red in it from camera makes hard to say, definetly violet in the bird.
more info pls.

could you tell me what a grey clear head cleartail male with a blue clearhead cleartail hen would give me? Also a green to a grey or olive one
grey clear head cleartail male with a blue clearhead cleartail hen
50% Blue cleartails
50% grey cleartails

Green to Olive (double factor dark not a grey-green)
100% dark green birds
better to put it to a blue if indeed it is an olive and get cobalts & dark green
or better still to a violetBlue

Green to grey (not a good combo in my opinion)
Green & grey-green young
you'll also get blue & grey if both carry blue

I am purchasing my first new pair this weekend and it is an albino hen with a (what looks like) grey green what would this pair produce? Should I keep them together or find different better mutation mates for them?

Your birds to me with that unconvincing lighting, looks like Turquoise DF Violet.
You need a few more pictures as lighting can make a bird look many colors and shades.
They look really dark, but i don't like the to draw conclusions from this 1 pic.
Take some photos with natural light and open wing, back and front.

Pic you emailed has been edited, therefore i can not say much about the birds in this pic.
