buttercup??

Post by kerioke »

Ok what is this? Is it just another terminology for a yellow head? And what about the thick red neck feathers??

And would a buttercup be of any use to a breeding programme?

yellow head in green series birds and white head in blue series birds and yes they are a plus in a breeding program as they are not that common and it is a recessive gene like blue

Often this mutation is confused with other similar looking types. What really distinguishes it is the contrasting head colour of the cocks. The wine red eye does not appear to have a pupil is unique to the fallow mutation.

Really? My green lacewing has wine red eyes and no pupils. I thought it was a pallid thing... Ok now I'm really confused :/ it seems I don't even know my own birds!!
