****Colour ???? Updated Pics ****
Hi, I haven't visited this board in a long time but I'm hoping someone can help. A few months ago I paired up my Dark eyed Lutino Hen with a Grey Lacewing male. The hens parents were Lutino & Green, I do not know the background of the male.
Two of their five eggs hatched and I am handraising them at the moment. The oldest chick is around 24 days old and the younger is a day younger (the chicks weren't being fed properly so the smallest is a bit behind but growing very well now) and I beleive it will be the same colour but I am curious as to their colour. The pin feathers on the head appear to be yellow, with the body pin feathers a light olive colour with pale tips, a couple of the tips have started to open revealing a yellow coloured feather, the flights are a light tan colour pins.
I have attached some pics of the oldesst chick and the dad, if anyone has suggestions as to what the chicks colour may be I would appreciate the feedback.

Re: Colour ????
Hi if your male is not split to anthing this would be the outcome.
1.0 grey(sf) blue pallid
x 0.1 ino
% from all 1.0 (Male)
50.0% 1.0 grey(sf) pallidIno /blue
50.0% 1.0 pallidIno /blue
% from all 0.1 (Female)
50.0% 0.1 grey(sf) pallid /blue (greygreen lacewing) split blue
50.0% 0.1 pallid /blue (green lacewing) split blue
Thanks Glenn

Re: Colour ????
I don't know anything about genetics... just wanted to let you know they are extremely cute.... and to my untrained eye, they look olive... but I have no idea if that even makes sense. The male looks very healthy and is a beautiful bird!
Congrats.

Re: Colour ????
Thank you Glen and Madas, I have played around with then Genetics Calculator but wasn't sure if I was using it correctly. Just out of interest does anyone have any pics or link to pics of what a Pallidino or Grey green pallidino would look like?
Thanks again
Thanks again
Re: ****Colour ???? Updated Pics ****
I have new pics of the babies and the younger chick is a different colour to the older chick. Now that they are feathering out more I would love opinions as to colours....

Hi Goldelocs.
The young one is a pallid which based on the gen calc it is Lacewing split blue and is a female.
The older one is a pallidino which based on the gen calc is Lacwing ino split to blue and is male.
Thats what it looks like to me anyways.
Thanks Glenn
