i got this male early but i don't know his genetic history so i want to be sure is it a mutation or not

Hi,
How much did you py for him? it might be a pied but I do think it is. It might just be pigmentation of the feathers and as it is male I would say that you bird is split lutino. If you pair it up with your female green ringneck you will get 25% lutino hens.

Hi old. breeder;

It looks a recessive pied (dominant pieds are also called arlequin and do not display piedness in the head). There are at least 5 different recessive pieds. Piedness can increase or decrease with age. It is an adult male so maybe you can tell us if the number of spots is increasing or decreasing. By the way there isn't any relation between piedness and lutino mutation or split.
