Hi,
well sliver is know as cinnamon grey, so what ever colour you get all the offspring girls will have cinnamonin them and the boys will be split cinnamon. So that makes it easier when determining the sex of the bird.
the colour you get is based on buget and what colour bubs your after.

violet hen with the silver will get lavenda females which could look good. or a cobalt and you may get lilac colours bub girls.
that is what colour ringnecks I would get for your male. there are also pieds, cleartails but thet are in the high market area.

Hi,

You can not get cobalts without the dark factor.
Lila colour? What's such a thing? Be serious greenbean; you can do better.

Recio,
ahhhhh, "lets try" and educate what we know....
lets make a basic rule... :!:
lets keep cinnamon with cinnamon and Lutino and ino together....
OMG.....you could really be playing with stuff.... that is well....just bad to see what you get!
Or not get!!!! :?

Hi recio,

If you put a sliver cock with a cobalt hen

=grey blue cinnamon x dark blue

1.0 grey(sf) blue cinnamon x 0.1 D blue

% from all 1.0
25.0% 1.0 grey(sf) blue /cinnamon
25.0% 1.0 blue /cinnamon
25.0% 1.0 D grey(sf) blue /cinnamon
25.0% 1.0 D blue /cinnamon and this is cobalt

% from all 0.1
25.0% 0.1 grey(sf) blue cinnamon
25.0% 0.1 blue cinnamon
25.0% 0.1 D grey(sf) blue cinnamon
25.0% 0.1 D blue cinnamon this is called lilac

Hi bec,
Great news. if the parents were bue/ino and sliver hen

1.0 blue /ino x 0.1 grey(sf) blue cinnamon

% from all 1.0
25.0% 1.0 grey(sf) blue /cinnamon
25.0% 1.0 blue /cinnamon
25.0% 1.0 grey(sf) blue /ino cinnamon
25.0% 1.0 blue /ino cinnamon

% from all 0.1
25.0% 0.1 grey(sf) blue (cant be)
25.0% 0.1 blue (process of elemination...)
25.0% 0.1 grey(sf) blue ino(white masking grey) (cant be)
25.0% 0.1 blue ino (white) (cant be)

so you babies will end up being.

sliver x blue hen

1.0 grey(sf) blue cinnamon x 0.1 blue

% from all 1.0
50.0% 1.0 grey(sf) blue /cinnamon
50.0% 1.0 blue /cinnamon

% from all 0.1
50.0% 0.1 grey(sf) blue cinnamon
50.0% 0.1 blue cinnamon

4 different colours

thanks greenbean
im still a little confused at all the genetic codes there
i know in skeets clutch there was him (silver)
and an albino
in the following clutch there was an albino a silver & a blue not sure on the silver & blues genders but i was told the albinos had to be girls
but i think i understood your descriptions
so if i understand correctly all males will be either
grey split to cinamon orblue split to cinamon
and the girls will be silver or cinamon blue is that right?

Hi David;

I said that you could do better ... and you did it. Great. Now it is clearer and easier to understand.
By the way ... about lila as being dark blue cinnamon: this is the first time I hear about it. Where did you "catch" it? Is it a widely accepted terminology?

Best regards

Lilac over in australia is not very widly bred so there are not many. I came across a breeder who bred them and he called them lilac. I couldent find a picture of one but if I do I will post it.

Hi bec,
that mutation there is a coablt cinnamon (Dark Blue cinnamon) They are priced for about $1000 AUD. If you were to have one this is what your babies colours would look like.

1.0 grey(sf) blue cinnamon x 0.1 D blue cinnamon

% from all 1.0
25.0% 1.0 grey(sf) blue cinnamon
25.0% 1.0 blue cinnamon
25.0% 1.0 D grey(sf) blue cinnamon
25.0% 1.0 D blue cinnamon

% from all 0.1
25.0% 0.1 grey(sf) blue cinnamon
25.0% 0.1 blue cinnamon
25.0% 0.1 D grey(sf) blue cinnamon
25.0% 0.1 D blue cinnamon

% from all 1.0
12.5% 1.0 grey(sf) blue cinnamon

12.5% 1.0 grey(sf) blue violet(sf) cinnamon
12.5% 1.0 blue violet(sf) cinnamon
12.5% 1.0 D grey(sf) blue cinnamon
12.5% 1.0 D blue cinnamon
12.5% 1.0 D grey(sf) blue violet(sf) cinnamon
12.5% 1.0 D blue violet(sf) cinnamon
% from all 0.1
12.5% 0.1 grey(sf) blue cinnamon
12.5% 0.1 blue cinnamon
12.5% 0.1 grey(sf) blue violet(sf) cinnamon
12.5% 0.1 blue violet(sf) cinnamon
12.5% 0.1 D grey(sf) blue cinnamon
