Hi, You wont recieve any violets with that pair but you will recieve some violet greens.

1.0 green x 0.1 blue violet(sf)

% from all 1.0
50.0% 1.0 green /blue
50.0% 1.0 green violet(sf) /blue

% from all 0.1
50.0% 0.1 green /blue
50.0% 0.1 green violet(sf) /blue

And if you put a male green violet/blue to a violet hen you will get a big range of colours

1.0 green violet(sf) /blue x 0.1 blue violet(sf)

% from all 1.0
12.5% 1.0 blue
12.5% 1.0 blue violet(df)
25.0% 1.0 blue violet(sf)
12.5% 1.0 green /blue
12.5% 1.0 green violet(df) /blue
25.0% 1.0 green violet(sf) /blue

% from all 0.1
12.5% 0.1 blue
12.5% 0.1 blue violet(df)
25.0% 0.1 blue violet(sf)
12.5% 0.1 green /blue
12.5% 0.1 green violet(df) /blue
25.0% 0.1 green violet(sf) /blue

hopes this helps. if you have anymore questions just ask :D

Hi, no problem. I am glad to help :D
Putting ur small violet with a full grown ringneck I think will produce 25%small ringneck, 25%large, and 50%medium. It really depends on what colours you want, I think a violet with a violet is good as you produce violets that are not split and are pure. Some breeders like to buy pures as it helps them to keep track of the babies and there babies. My violet is paired with a blue male. My hen is slightly small but that is normal for the hen to be slightly smaller then the male. With this pair I will be getting 50% blue and 50% violet. The blue is pure and that helps me to determine the offspring easily :P to your other question, if you put your violet wwith a blue you will get both sexes of violet and blue.

My pairs this year are

Violet hen with blue male (about to lay eggs) :D :D :D
Blue hen with lutino male (she is scruffing round the nesting box) :) :) :) :)
green hen with green male
Pastel blue/lace hen Violet lacewing male (dont think they will breed this year) :(

click here to see my pairs http://www.indianringneck.com/forum/vie ... =5&t=10800

I am planing on buying a cobalt pied hen this year to try and breed next year.

What pairs do you have this year?
