HI,
My violet is 2 years old and is mature. She cost me $850 AUD.
I would say a mature violet would cost $800 to $1000 AUD.
An 09 or 10 this year would cost $500 to $700 AUD.

This year I have paired my violet up with a pure blue male. The reason for this is so all my violet a blue babies will be pure and have no splits in them.

Hi, sorry for the sad news  . I still havent got any eggs from my violet pair yet but every time I look outside the male is mounting her  . they just cant get enough of each other. I hope to seee eggs from her soon. And I will post pics and I am hand raising all the babies all my pairs produce.

How many eggs can a hen lay? with one cluch normally 1-7, but I have heard amazing stories were there has been 11. but if you take the eggs out as soon as they are layed, about 3 days after the full cluch and incubat them yourself in a machine, You may get 3 cluches from one female which is like 10- 20

Hi,
I turquiose pallid ino is a rainbow. I dont think there is such thing as a blue rainbow. You can get a turquiose blue ino pallid which looks more like a pastel rainbow. I am not sure what currency that is as I am 16 :) dont know too much haha. but here a bird like that would cost $200 untamed.

hey guys :) I'm totally new to ringnecks. i owned a grey female 2 years ago, although she flew away :(...and just adopted a green male...all i know about IRN mutations is, green, blue, grey, albino and lutino haha! So you're both ahead of me! Is there a site or thread you could recommend to learn the mutations with photos also? :)

What mutations could I get from a green male? (based on a hens colour...i currently have no hen but wouldn't mind trying to breed him one day). Thanks! :)

Hi,
welcome :) I am so sorry for your birds death. Here is a site for most of the mutations and ways of getting that mutation. http://home.wanadoo.nl/psittaculaworld/ ... aWorld.htm

as you have a green male ringneck, if you breed him with any mutation you will only recive green splits to the mutation you breed him to.
for example:
Green male x blue hen

% from all 1.0
100.0% 1.0 green /blue

% from all 0.1
100.0% 0.1 green /blue

But.. :) if you breed your green male to mutatiions from the following.
.Violet blue
.grey
.dark factor
.dom pied

you will recive a green mixed one of those colours.
e.g.
green male with a violet blue hen
gives you a greenviolet blue.

Hope this makes sence. I am only 16 and my knowledge is very limited.
any more questions just ask :P

Thankyou for the link :D

david you will get eggs man, just hang in there, my yellow pair of ringnecks also just gave me eggs. About cages, i got my parrots in flight cages but my ringnecks are in hanging cages that i have built myself. david can it be possible if a female ringneck can be unfertile since my silver turquiose male is mating with the turquiose female to the point he is biting her hair off her head but still she hasnt laid an egg. Should i take her to the vet to check if she has eggs inside her?

Hey ottarr! Any chance your green bird is actually a Grey-green? A Grey-green/ blue ino paired with a blue hen will give you Grey-green, Green, Blue, and Grey males and Grey-green, Green, Blue, Grey, Albino, and Lutino females.
