please help me out... the irn is not eating..

hi...i am from india.today i bought two new irn.. they r cute but i am in a big trouble they have not ate any thing since morning they r just 2 months old as per the shopkeeper and dont even say or murmur any word.. but when ever i come around them both of the irns move to the other side of the cage...
please suggest me any step to be taken to be friends wid them waiting for ur replys..

When did you bring them home? If it is just a day or so they may just be adjusting to the new home.
Keep seed or whatever the shop was feeding them easy to reach. When I brought mine home I had to set him on his perch near his food a few times a day because he was not use to climbing around a big cage.

Your bird was younger then ganesh birds. I think.
Give your birds time, they are just zoned out
and prob feel weird. They will def adjust and
eat normal soon.

help me out guys i tried out wat u said but thats not working they r still afraid of me and not eatng any thing... pls try and suggest some more ways asap waiting for ur reply..

I read on here that young ringies tend to revert back to wanting a hand feeding when they're at a new home. Maybe you could try that, if you know how to do it? Are there any avian vets in India?

You need to chill out. It takes days, they prob eat wen you are not there or looking.

put some fresh fruit in for them as well as some seeds or what ever it is you will be feeding them. It will take time for them to trust you enough to eat, but you really need to leave them be for a day or so to adjust to being somewhere new. I have a new pair that come home 2 hrs ago, they are in quarantine and will be left to settle in their own time.

Well excuse me, if im leaving them be as I advised doing I wont be taking pics just yet would I

I will take some soon. They have started to settle down and now that the outside irns have started their morning calls they are looking very interested in whats outside.

This is normal. They are scared and traumatized from a big change in their life. They will sleep a lot, not eat or drink to much or not at all, be afraid. Keep talking to them in a gentle voice and always approach the cage slowly. No fast jerky movements. They will settle down but you need to give them some time and space to adjust. For now leave them alone so they get settled. Don’t try to catch them what ever you do, the more you disturb them right now the more they will be afraid of you. It sounds like it is going to take a while for these guys to settle in but give them a chance to calm down.

It may take a few weeks, like 1 or 2 weeks for your
birds to actually feel safe. Good luck ganesh!
