Hi,

I have had my new royal blue ringneck for 4 days now and have started to notice he walks around the bottom of the cage a lot. He does play with his toys and has been eating, just don't know why he keeps going to the bottom. Is it something to be concerned about?

He is untamed and only 4 months old

Have his wings been clipped?, it's possible he feels insecure on perches if this is the case.

No his wings have not been clipped

I don't think there is any serious issue here, it might be an idea to ask an avian vet, or look for an avian behaviourist website.My bird only did this when she had her nursery cage, but she also used her perches a lot.
