Head Banging

Post by celtic_aura »

I've noticed that sometimes when Gigi bird has a treat or toy in one of his feet he beats the toy repeatedly with his head. I know when he does this at night, usually along with growling, it means he's over tired and wants to be covered. But lately he's been doing it during the day and not growling. Does anyone else's IRN do this? Any ideas on what it means? Since it's a bit of a new behavior I'm trying to figure out if it's a happy or angry thing. :?

Yes billy does this on one of his perches where he can see a little metal bit seems like he is angry with it. Its normally when he can get his own way or attention.

I thought maybe it was a "Yay I'm so excited!" thing since today he did it to an almond. Just kept banging it against his head for about 2 minutes. LOL Or maybe my bird's just mental.
