How often do IRN's sleep during the day?

Post by aaren09 »

My IRN has been sleeping on and off all day. I was wondering if this was normal. I thought that they were supposed to be very active and playful during the day...but he has been sleeping more than anyhting. I got him out this morning around 9:00 and played with him for about an hour and a half. Then I put him back in his cage because I had to go to the grocery store and when I got back to get him out he didn't want to...he would've rather slept. I figured that he was just a baby and needed his rest, but then I started thinking that he might be sick. :( What do yall think?

They will have naps during the day but if they are lethargic and sleeping all day then I'd get checked out with the vet. My Jibby was sleeping alot last year and I was worried. But turns out there was nothing wrong. Just a lazy birdy! Naps are quite normal.

My IRN is most active after 5pm and sleepy most of the day except if i spend time with him and offer him foods. I think its because he knows when we get home from work etc.

Its just normal i think
