My Petey is spoiled!

Post by DianneFutureRN »

Yesterday we had Pete out for the longest time since we've had him and we had lots of fun with him.
BUT...... since uncovering him this morning all he has done is scream! My son made popcorn and I thought maybe he just wanted some popcorn but after giving him some he is still screaming. He is only quiet if I talk to him.
I think I have created a spoiled birdy!
He is doing everything but standing on his head to get my attention! It's the funniest thing. As much head swaying as he is doing he is going to have a sore neck! LOL

Now comes the tough part..... if you don't ignore him, he will learn that it works and will never stop. Hard to say who is training whom, eh?

Sounds like my Jibby. Your bird has trained you! Its hard but we have to ignore them. Eventually they get the idea that screaming is not the way to get what you want. Its working for me and I'm actually getting some sleep in the mornings!
