Bluffing

Post by juttdegueyter »

Hi, I've got my Indian ring neck about 3 years ago now, she is a female and she is roughly 3 years old. Almost ever since I've gotton Her I've been having a problem with bluffing , even though she's three years old now. She bites hard and won't step up to my finger. Any tips on what should I do here?

Yes, and please excuse my bluntness. Your bird is not "bluffing", she is communicating with you. She is telling you that she does not want to interact in that way. You need to completely readjust how you interact with her, it is obviously not working. You need to change your behaviour so you can change the way she behaves with you.

Does she take treats from you?

Here is a really good piece by one of my favourite parrot trainers that might help you get started: http://goodbirdinc.blogspot.com.au/2015 ... f.html?m=1

Please read the link.

I agree with InTheAir. I also think you can learn to stop provoking a bite.
