Sleeping ?

Post by Greenpitbul1113 »

Is it good to cover the cage so as the bird to sleep easier or is afraid of the cover? The room is big while at the other side is the TV always open at night until late and light surely is passing the cage...

Sorry, I did not fully understand your question. Do you mean he is scared of the cover?
It is a good idea to give your bird uninterrupted darkness at night.

When we had just Skyelar, his cage was in the living room, so when it was time for bed, we would drape a cover over the cage. He never showed any fear of it, and seemed to sleep better when the cover was on.
Don't know if this helps.

My birds were scared of the cover initially. Now, they like it. Maybe slow introduction by partially covering and pairing the partial covering with treats might be a good way to go.

Thanks a lot... I did cover the cage at first but the 2 last nights I opened the cage and Coukou was standing on top. Yesterday night I realized that Coukou become an owl as was standing erect at the top of the open cage for long time without moving and pretended slept. It was late and so I caught the naughty bird against its wiil, bit me sometimes, and brought it inside the cage, closed the roof of the cage and cover it at last so as to sleep the cheeky small creature. Thanks again!!
